Instant Evolution
Later sketch for the Don't Play Dead theme. Drawn in Kansas City, MO. This is a toon featuring some opossum with a curious idea of speeding up there genetic urges in a head-on collision with evolution. Some guys get the idea to go ahead and force their species to adapt or die. In this illustration, a pick-up truck drives over a nightime hill. A possum is mesmorized by the headlights of the on-coming truck. In the background, his opossum friends encourage each other to fight the urge and evolve past this don't play dead trick they know so well.
Ray was gonna do it folks! He'd be the first possum to resist his genetic urge to play dead...
